| UMJ FKK Students Win National MTQ Second Place at the Open University, (9-23/08/2023). |
A group of students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta (FKK UMJ ) consisting of Ibrahim, Irfan Rahman, Iin Wulandari, and Nawal Alamudy, won the top 5 in the National Musabaqoh Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) competition. This competition is being held by the Open University from 9 to 29 August 2023.

Ibrahim revealed that he and his team had a tight time for practice due to clashes with class schedules, UAS, and other student activities. This is because the four of them come from different study programs. Ibrahim is from the Medical Study Program class of 2020. As for Iin Wulandari and Irfan Rahman are from the Medical Study Program class of 2021. Meanwhile Nawal Alamudy is from the Midwifery Study Program class of 2021.
“In the preliminary round we did offline training twice as well as in the final round. At first we lacked confidence in the preliminary round due to lack of practice, but when it was announced that the contingent that had qualified for the final, UMJ's name was listed, we were a little surprised and very grateful," said Ibrahim when asked for information via private message.
For Ibrahim and his friends, the experience of this group MTQ competition was a new challenge. One form of support provided by the faculty is the relaxation of the exam schedule which is postponed by a day. "Winning and losing is not the goal, but trying to give the best of ourselves," he added.
The victory of the National MTQ is hoped by Ibrahim to be a motivation for UMJ students. This proves that UMJ students can compete on the national level in the MTQ event. Apart from that, he also hopes that there will be more Quranic generations at UMJ so that the message of the Islamic religion can continue to grow.
